This is something Noah had been told time and time again since first becoming a Scientist researching Aldoravik Drives and how to better integrate them with existing ftl technology. To Noah, the thought of doing one of the meaningless busywork jobs that occupied so many people within the Deutschland was demeaning and beneath him. This is because Noah had a point. Within his first few years researching the Aldoravik Drive, he found several minor inefficiencies, and deduced a way to have it power a hyperdrive, this was a massive discovery as it allowed a large section of most Deutschland military vessels to be reclaimed, as well as removing the dependency that the Deutschland had on Xiao-Ming for engines. After Noah’s breakthrough discovery, he began working with Moss Pevtolek. While the man may have been most accurately described as ancient, his discovery of the hyperdrive had brought a wave of wealth to the Deutschland and had been instrumental in the last few wars. Noah having the chance to work under someone of such a high degree of prestige was only further reenforcing Noah's superiority complex. By the time Noah was 24, he had worked with the top minds in most scientific areas, including spending a small amount of time doing research with Fedorov into magic. His work was heralded as the next great innovator and he was set on a path to be the biggest name in science galaxy wide, possible in the whole known universe. That came to a crashing halt when one of his Komrads claimed that Noah was committing academic dishonesty, forging lab results, and a number of other heinous accusations. Noah was quickly taken in by the committed for academic integrity, declared guilty and given the choice, twenty years in a prison labour camp mining tillium on a freezing moon, or join the inquisition, as an interrogator for Inquisitor Fedorov. He quickly chooses the inquisition life. Of course, what Noah would never admin is that he really wasn’t that smart, or that well educated. He simply “borrowed” other people's research and tried it in slightly different ways. His breakthrough Interrogator Noah Orlov - Scientist discovery actually being the result of him looking at an ancient Aldoravik Drive from the earliest days of Sigmar himself, and applying a number of modern upgrades to it.
