Okay so the Federation is struggling to demobalize rn, it is struggling with the high cost of transition its mlitary to a smaller ifhgting force, but every soldier it lays off is more on the unemployment and UBI rolls. The Companie during the war suffered a laboru shortage and moved to greater amounts of automation. most all credit in the Federatino was swept up by John GOodwin in laons, which he is now burdened by and has to repay forcing the creation of the stellar soverignity, while the refugee crisis in Tahara is just more unemployed. Trade is low and not moving even though Emily si trying to sell off old military ships, piracy has skyrocketed, and corproations are unable to move goods. Void trains are expensive, slwo to build, slow to staff, and only exist ina few core regions, the rising interest rate means there is a recession coming as credit will be wholly obliterated. meanwhile the massive federal beucracy claims nothing can be cut and the senate shoots it donw. The people have no money to pay higher taxes, the Lords will revolt if they're taxed higher and start a civil war, the dominions have uplaoded defense costs to the Federal governemnt spread the fleet out thin, whiel building projects are stalling due to lack of labour, supplies, and expensive goods. Raw resources aren't being produced because of envirometnal and protectionality legislation for the planets with resources while those which used to be mined were exhausted in the great awr, and opening upn new fronts requires certifications and checks done by the Senate which it is struglging to do due ot lakc of ships and personnel, but it can't hire more becuase the benefit sand sallaries are too high. The senate refuses to pass cuts, the Businesses refuse to pass fleet reform, the lords refuse to allow higher taxes and the commons refuse ot cut regulations and protections to increase employment because it will allow for a lower standard of living and increase inequality.
