# Alien Encounter Information
## Background
Some aliens have showed up. They might be the ones who followed the Deutschland from their home. They might be the black goop people. They might be the alien federation. Point is, they're here.
## What Happens
At the end of round three, Aliens arrive. 6 [[Alien Encounter Information#Alien Pods Spawners|Alien Pods]] spawn on the map.
When they are spawned, roll 2D4 to determine the X and Y of which subsector to spawn the pod then. Then roll 1D10 and 1D8 to determine the coordinates for the pod to spawn in, repeat this for each pod. Once the pod has been placed note the area in black. From each pod 4 drones spawn of the lowest level, placed at the GM's discretion. Refer below for what the Aliens goal is.
**Pod spawn points**
1. 3,2,4,3
2. 2,2,2,3
3. 1,4,5,3
4. 4,2,3,4
5. 3,4,8,4
6. 2,3,8,3
### Round 4
During Round 3, the Aliens will not move. Their goal is to consolidate their positions. During this round, players might attack them, if provoked the Aliens will lash out at their attack but at no one else.
The Main goal of this round is for the pods to survive. If they do, each pod spawns 1 drones, the 6 existing fleets are upgraded.
### Round 5
During this round the now upgraded fleets are going to begin lashing our, each tile around the black spot turns black. This trend continues around each black tile for the rest of the game. An alien fleet may choose to attack a system, if it succeeds it turns the system black.
This round the Pods spawn 8 alien fleets, existing fleets all move up one level.
### Later Rounds
The alien fleets should now have provoked the players and should be fighting them for control of systems. Each round the alien ships which survived the previous round should upgrade, and a reduced die for subsequent rounds.
Round 6: 7; Round 7: 2; Round 8: 1;
## How the Aliens work
The Aliens work by taking land, spawning new aliens, and attacking whoever is nearest. Their goals are known to them and unknown to the players.
### Can they be communicated with?
Yes, the aliens can communicate, however the players must 'discover' how to communicate with the aliens, which will take least 3 rounds.
### What do they want?
The aliens are actually a bioorganic mass which followed a straggler fleet which followed the Deutschland but got knocked off course. It wound up here. If it spreads too far, it will engulf this galaxy like it did the Rhineland putting everything at risk once again. The Alien desires to spread, and take land, for that is all it knows.
## Alien Stats/Ships
### Alien Pods/Spawners
The Spawners roll 1D100 for their attack die. They cannot move. They may spawn a number of ships depending on the round, as explained above, and may upgrade the existing ships up one level, even if the ships are far away from the spawner.
A ship may spawn in any part of the spawners black goop
### Alien Black Goop
The black goop has a defense of 2D20 to defend a system, a ship travelling through it cannot move more then one parsec per round, even if it has a higher move speed, and must instead move around it.
