# The Broad Overview

6. _[_2:02 PM_]_ because no one piece can exist with out the others - a faction needs subfactions and both need members and items and vehicles all of which need crews and must be itneracted with via skill checks and all of htem have to be within systems and on planets and in places - never mind the date/time system or the news systems

OTOH, think of how easy it will be to generate headlines based on semi-random semi-planned actions by the AI on each ticking day - "corporation X moves against gang Y on planet Z in the H subsector, U responds by allying with Y and attacking X on P planet in the H subsector" three in game days later "message ship destroyed by faction X"

a very minor goal is the idea that players in the politics game IRL should be able to 'feel' the effects of what happens in those quickly passing in game months in the online text game version with their character there
24. in reality it would be based on a simple resource + goal pool system where new goals are added/geneated based on size and reach, and fitler through sub groups and members of the group. Thus the nation may decide we're going to take planet X, and with that as the goal, the subgroups pick a goal which leads towards that, semi at random and definately not perfectly, filtering down subgroups until you have the indivual members of a military unit on a planet whose new 'order' is return to base, and tomorrows order is 'board ship' and the order for that ship is to move towards anotehr place. At the same time, the gang members on that planet have an order to 'secure new supply of drugs' for one day and 'sell drugs' the next day as part of overarchign goal ot 'grow gang size' and because the troops went off planet, the gnag can more easily get the drugs, possibly causing them to take control of the planet adn thus move up to a larger fation size lobbing new options into the goal pool 'now its not just take contorl of one city, or one planet, its secure control of the system, then teh subector, then teh sector, etc'
25. _[_2:18 PM_]_ and because the goal is to do this as mostly text, not graphics, the computaitonal time graphics would've taken is instead spent on the AI and simulation systems
26. _[_2:19 PM_]_ another of the minor goals of hte wiki project is to explore emergent behavior in traveller/the known universe
27. _[_2:19 PM_]_ oh another benfit of the wiki redo, we can move the timeline forward and introudce more FTL types to traveller

31. _[_2:20 PM_]_ immigration and emigration can handle adding new pops and items if need be tho I'd like to see the largest size we cna simulate without being too slow. but I would be shocked if we can get over a super or mega sector (edited)
32. _[_2:21 PM_]_ We'd need millions of daily players ot justify the funds necessary nevermind the work required to simulate a galaxy, nevermind multiple
33. _[_2:21 PM_]_ and as well there are limitations on the complexity of actions based on what can be reasoned as a goal, and the limitations of the magic system aslo become visbile in this scenario

At a minium, it would be a faction goal / asset tracking system for the politilcs game and a character tracking system whic is basically the game itself for campaign tracking, but then merging the two systems turns it into a video game if you add combat roles basically
