Going into science instead of religion. This difference may be the reason for Barbara's successful rise in rank. Many others say this may have been because of the clique she joined at university whose ranks included numerous children of ranking members of various government organizations. After graduation Barbara went into the Deutschlands science division of government. Due to the lack of funding Barbara was shuffled from department to department with lightning fast authority allowing her to quickly gain skills in various categories. Thankfully Barbara ended up getting enough experience under a boss who didn’t hate her that she found herself some stable footing. During her time under this new boss, Barbara cheats some lab data by forging results that show her experiment worked when in reality it failed. (This experiment would end up being the foundation of several major government projects.) Realizing that she couldn’t keep working at her current lab after falsifying reports she enters work under an eccentric but brilliant scientist who teaches her far more than she even could have hoped for. The two soon feel into an odd form of love. One of the major government projects that relied on her data had failed. The government had figured out that she had faked the data. Her teacher and lover left her and the military, to repay the debt of lost lives, drafted her. Service Background Thankfully at first for Barbara she is drafted into her planet's police force as a forensics investigator. While not as mind expanding as her last job, it was stable work and successful. One day though, she had to examine the body of her old lover. Feeling rage wash over her, Barbara went rogue and began to hunt down the killer. Before she could find him, her fellow officers interviewed and had her transferred into the general infantry. Resulting in her deployment to the Islands.
