To Artyom it was a gift from Sigmar himself that he had been chosen to serve. His Father-Teacher Elias even wrote that Artyom’s commitment was unlike even the most ferocious marines. On his first assignment, searching the ruins of an ancient Church, Artyom got his first taste of the actual life of a Sigmarine watching Father-Teacher Elias fall due to Artyom not trusting his suit's sensors. The bittersweet promotion to second-brother was crushing for Artyom and he took the Oath of the Fleeting, vowing to never be the cause of death for another Sigmarine again. As someone with such a high degree of devotion, Artyom quickly was drafted into the Order of Sigmoria. While in this order Artyom was assigned to numerous anti-terrorism missions, the longest being a nine month raid on a jungel planet, where his entire company had run out of supplies by the fifth month and were fighting with spears and rocks, but was still eventually sucessful. While serving in the Order of Sigmoria Artyom rose the ranks of enlisted marine quickly, each special operations mission giving him a new set of medals and accolades that Artyom simply ignored. To him the only result of these missions was the loss of another Brother. By Artyom’s late twenties he had spent more time in special forces then frontline soldier. This changed when he got assigned to a new company of Sigmarines and was told to help siege a planet. From the moment his drop pod crashed into the cityscape, and moments later followed by his rifle chanting gunfire like a monk, he knew that the front lines was where he belonged. While official Sigmarine records on body counts are restricted to the highest levels of the office, it is estimated that in this single engagement then First-Brother Artyom eliminated over three hundred infidels single handedly. Unfortunately for Artyom, after finally feeling like he had found where he belonged within the Sigmarines it was ripped from him. Artyom had been assigned to patrol the holy world of Johnorus Three. While Father-Commander Artyom Scholz - Sigmarine Troop here Artyom was secretly tested to become an officer within the Sigmarines. The exact tests are a long held secret of the Sigmarines, though what is known is that they are plentiful and dangerous. Artyom scored well enough on his tests to earn the Rank Father-Captain. Many of the priests on Johnorus Three wrote that the spirit of Sigmar was glowing within Father-Captain Artyom. There are records of lengthy debates by ranking members of the church on Johnorus about whether there was a mistake in not training Artyom in the ways of Sigmar’s gift. Artyom though, had only one goal. Return to the front. Instead Artyom's whole company was assigned to the Battlestar Rocens Hope to work with the Inquisitor Fedorov.
