# Funding The Federation Fleet ## Published in 83375 - The first federation - Funded by the federal government, was a core unit, was the basic thing the whole federal economy was buitl to maintain - strong central government with broad income and corporate taxes - Second federation - funding from centralization failed and fell through, refomred into individual fleets funding their own upkeep based on a terrotiroicalized region, basically hwat land was necessary to maintain this fleet - small and weak central government with exxtremely limited taxation capcity, only availabel when agreed by all lords - Third Federation - creation of centrally funded fleet again through negotiated paymnets from each lord to the center, growth of central government - massive growth in federal debt - Fourth Federation - breakdown of central funding, lords back to funding their own fleets, while centrla governemnt also taxing lords, corporations, and citizens, tripple dipping to try and fund central fleet but all very poorly organized and not well paid - debt is basically gone as a concept for the government, banned - Fifth federation - lords funded by DAM who is also funding federla fleet, now all funding centralied in him/her - massive debt has retunred, but owed to others by dam alone, cripplling interest payments
